Reflection
Well, we have learnt that shopping for clothes for ourselves is actually not an easy task as we thought it to be. Furthermore, what we have been doing is online shopping and shopping in malls would take up even more time and energy than this. We realised that matching suitable items together correctly is quite difficult and that our "sense of match" does not seen to be very well. This may be due to our lack of experiences in shopping for clothes for ourselves or others.
We are lack of knowledge of such and that had led to us facing challenges such as not being able to find suitable items we wanted with the budget and we had to abandoned some of our ideas due to this. We are also unsure about the type of dressings, such as what counts as informal and what counts as formal. We have not much ideas about what is a formal dressing other than those standard kinds of "ballroom dressings". For a few times, we also failed to find accessories that suit our main dress and spending lots of time to look for them and even had to abandoned our previously set ideas with the main outfit. We do not know about the style lines and how it actually help to our finding of outfits.
We had asked for help from others such as our peers and parents. Some of our peers who have more experiences were able to give us advices and commented on what we have done. Parents were also very helpful as being elder, they have been exposed to more of how to shop wisely and efficiently than us. From others, we also learnt about how people actually views us in the outfits we have chosen and then being able to improve to get how we wanted ourselves to be viewed as. Later, we decided to changed our plan of shopping from choosing one item at a time and abdoning all the rest to seeing all items and choose the best that we wanted for. This had turned up to be a more efficient way for us.
After completing this task, we think that 3 learning points of this task would be:
- Some basic knowledge would be required for ourselves to do shopping for ourselves.
- The prices matter a lot and we have to learn to be more efficient in the planning of spending.
- The way oneself is presented would affect, in both good and bad, how others see him/her to be like in different situations.
After everything, we now feel more interested in "shopping wisely" and would do more towards so as to overcome all those challenges that we have faced in doing this task. Learn to "shop wise" is important so as to ensure that our precious money is actuallt spent in the right and worthy way.
